BF&S Participates in Elkhart County’s Pay Dirt In-Field Event

The BF&S Stormwater and Environmental team had the opportunity to participate in the Elkhart County Soil and Water Conservation District’s Pay Dirt In-Field event at a Homestead Farm in Elkhart County. This hands-on event brought together stormwater professionals from across the state to explore erosion and sediment control best management practices (BMPs) in action.

The event featured live demonstrations of various BMPs, where participants learned about product specifications, installation techniques, and maintenance tips. The focus was not only on education but also on fostering collaboration, as MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems) representatives gathered to discuss and align efforts to meet their stormwater management goals.

BF&S’ own Megan Bolyard presented on the key components of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), providing valuable insights on effective stormwater management. Additionally, our friends from FODS showcased a reusable and easy-to-install construction entrance—an innovative solution to reducing sediment tracking on construction sites.

We’d like to extend a big thank you to the Erosion Construction Services team and the Elkhart County Water Quality Partnership for making this event a success. It was a great day of learning, sharing, and working together to improve stormwater management practices in Indiana!
