Summary:
The Greensburg Board of Aviation Commissioners desired a larger runway able to accommodate business jet and cargo traffic serving local businesses and industries, such as the Honda manufacturing plant. The new runway was constructed in two phases. Phase I required over 400,000 cubic yards of earthwork grading across 90 acres of the site in preparation for paving. A new storm sewer network was constructed with 8,780 linear feet of concrete pipe. Phase II included construction of a cement stabilized base course, aggregate base course, and asphalt paving. A new electrical vault and LED runway lights and navigational aids were installed. The new runway is 5,405’ in length and 100’ wide.
